Celebrity Golf Classic – 15 March 2012
Local celebrities will grace the lawns of The Humewood Golf Club when the 14th Celebrity Golf Classic which is hosted by Algoa Bay Council for the Aged is held on 15 March 2012.
Amongst the celebrities who will be taking part in the event and who will be “swinging” to raise funds for the elderly are Mr South Africa 2010, Denver Burns, SA Rugby players Breyton Paulse, Rob Louw, Robbi Kempson, De Wet Barry and Danie Gerber.
Local comedian Gino Fabbri will be there alongside SA Boxing great Kallie Knoetze…this could lead to ’bouts’ of serious laughter!
To add that special touch of glamour to the event Roxy Louw and several beautiful ladies will be there on the day.
We are told that SA Sunshine Tour Golf PRO’s Titch Moore and Francois van Vuuren will host a “Mulligan” with ice cold cocktails on the 18th….does that mean if you get to take the 2nd uncounted shot at the little white ball that you get to drink the cocktail or your playing partner…whichever way the days round of golf will end on a high note indeed.
Gino Fabbri will entertain with a comedy show at the prize giving event.
Funds raised will go in particular to older people surviving on state pensions of R1040 per month.
There may still be place for your team (4-ball) to book. Phone Alta or Maureen on 041 3688434.
BSG Energade Triathlon Series – Pollock Beach, Port Elizabeth13/11/2011
Location: Pollock Beach – Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay)
When: Sunday 13 November 2011
The BSG Energade Triathlon Series moves to Port Elizabeth after taking place in Germiston, Midmar, Vanderbijlpark, Potchefstroom and Roodeplaat.
This three discipline,(swimming (600m), cycling (20km) and running (5km)) seven event Series held in major centres around South Africa is for everyone, from South Africa’s Elite triathletes looking for a tough competitive challenge, to experienced triathletes looking for diverse race conditions and trying to beat a personal best, to first-times seeking an enjoyable way to get fit and have fun with other athletes!
And it’s for the whole family, with the kids series and the opportunity to race as a family team.
BSG and Energade, as a team, have brought this popular triathlon series to South
Africa for the past three years. Continually doing things better and smarter is
what BSG and Energade are all about and this year is no exception with even more
exciting innovations in store. We have enhanced the online experience through
the BSG Multisport portal where improvements have been made to the processes
used for online entries as well as the technology that supports this. The venues
selected for the 2011 BSG Energade Triseries and Kids Series will provide
maximum athlete safety, as they have been chosen based on analysis of water
quality levels and road closure facilities. We have redesigned the race schedule
so there is a separate Elite race, multiple start waves to manage participant
numbers in the swim, and have ensured our Kiddies series is better than ever.
The weather today- Monday 7 November is bright and sunny with an expected high of 26 deg. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. Winds NNE around 16 to 35 kmph.
Unfortunately the prediction for Sunday shows a high of around 21 with a 60% chance of showers and wind speeds of up to 55 kmph. But then again our weather is very fickle and who knows it might just do a turn for the better and greater enjoyment of the athletes!
We wish all contestants well!
